Have you ever felt pressured to do what someone else says? Like if your heart wants one thing but EVERYONE around you wants something else for you or thinks it’s going to be the best for you? People can point out what they think can be best for you and how much it’s going to benefit you but in the end only you and your heart knows what’s best for you. No one else can tell you other wise. If your mine is set upon what you think is best then go for it! At the end of the day you won’t blame anyone but yourself  if you don’t listen to what your heart wants. By following others advice you will wonder how it could have been or if you were wrong for not following your first thought. But always put your self first because NO one else is going to put you first. It could be about anything, love or staying with someone or it could be something like moving or just any big decision that got you thinking a whole lot it could be anything. You just always have to know to put your self first and not let anyone bring you down or get to your head because everyone is strong in this world and you can’t let people break you down and make you weak and tell you what’s best for you , when they don’t even know.

How do you know someone is thinking about you?
They say that if you have a soul connection with that person then you can feel it in your heart. Read this and tell me if you think is true or not?
Have you ever asked yourself why it is so difficult to stop thinking about someone? We are all psychic in one way or another. When you connect to another man/woman in a deep way, you are connecting your souls. Most people don't realize how psychic they really are. Everyone is clairsentient whether they know it or not. Being clairsentient means that you have the psychic ability to feel another person's energy and feelings.

Actor Steven Seagal is being sued for rape by his former personal assistant Kayden Nguyen for claims of sexual harassment. This week two more girls say that they had the same problems with Seagal; one of the young women was Ray Charles granddaughter Blair. Blair quit her job as Seagal's personal assistant after just one day, she says Seagal told her that massages were in her job description and sexual favors were accepted. In my opinion I think that is out of pocket and a man should never try to mix business with pleasure, at the same time I think every one is innocent until proven guilty. This relates a lot to BOM because this should be a message to all young girls and that is be aware of things you are getting involved in before just going with the plan.

A lot of people don’t like getting in other’s people’s business, but I think that if you ever see a man hitting a female you should stop it or say something at least. Some people may be thinking now as they read this, like what is if it’s a dude getting hit by a girl? I think the same applies, but in a woman’s case is really different because a woman’s strength can never be  compared to a man’s strength. I believe that no matter what size or weight a woman is, a men’s strenght is too powerful, they’re just built like that. If a dude is getting pushed around by a girl and hit it is ridiculous because you should be the man and tell her to stop and stop her yourself. But it is rare for this to happen. It is most common to see a girl getting hit and abused. Which I think is because men take advantage of their physical abilities and how to use them. Is a coward move by the way! But when you hop on the bus daily in Oakland you would come across all kinds of crazy scenarios. You don’t even have to be on the bus to see something crazy, I just think that busses are setups and traps. Yesterday on my way home I happened to see a man on the bus hitting his wife and telling her to shut up while she tried to argue with him, I was shocked but not surprised. It killed me to see this happen infront of me so I had to say something to the man. What I said wasn’t so nice but it prevented the lady from getting hit some more. Then they just got off the bus like nothing happened, I just wonder if she got hit some more after that. While I watched it the first thing that came to my mind was my mother. What if she was getting hit by a man on the bus? This what really made me say something, cause I would want somebody to help my mother, this is what you guys should think like. Ask yourself what if that was to happen to  my mom, grandma, sister, cousin, friend? Think about it.

This past month I went to two BOM outreach events. The first event was "This is How We Do It" at the East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC) building. The event was a “Stop the Violence in Oakland Conference” thrown by a teenaged girl named Taylor. Shoot out to Taylor!!!! The conference was so amazing!!! It really opened my eyes to all the drama and senseless violence that actually goes on in these Oakland streets. I mean I knew that the violence was bad but, what I never thought about was the effects the violence has not only on those directly involved but, on those who were indirectly involved. For example, the families, the doctors, the communities are all effect by the cycle of violence. The families are mad at the culprit that shot their loved one, the doctors become empathic to the patients each one being worse yet better than the last and the communities are not fully functioning communities because the kids cannot play on the streets because some areas are too “hot” to play in. The guest speakers ranged from Oakland police officers, Oakland city district attorneys, and many different non-profit originations such as Youth Radio’s Boss of Me (BOM), Youth Alive, H.E.A.T Program, etc. The cycle of violence is not only happening in Oakland but all over the Bay Area, all over California, all over the nation, all over the world!!!! BOM was there to just advocate for healthier relationships and all. You know how we do it at BOM!!! Be the boss of yourself and let no one tell you no different.

The Oakland Tribune recently wrote an article discussing Oakland’s efforts to end sex trafficking and prostitution, especially when the victims are young girls. The article talks about the Victory Outreach church of Oakland; they created programs for people to talk to young girls on the streets in hopes of letting them know they have support and a way out of that lifestyle. The article also mentions a recent arrest that took place in Oakland where 31 year old pimp, Vincent Turner was arrested for kidnapping, raping and trafficking two teenage girls. The article’s focus is the progress that is being  made in Oakland to bring awareness to the issue of sex trafficking and prostitution

Disney star Idols taking it too far!

Disney channel is known as a network that promotes innocence, purity, good morals, and values. Their teen stars are supposed to act as role models for young girls and boys across the country. So then why is it that the majority of Disney’s female stars turn out doing the craziest things!?
It started with the notorious Britney Spears, former Disney Musketeer, going crazy when she hit her teens. She began exhibiting inappropriate behavior with extremely sexual songs like, “slave for you”.  But it really went downhill when she had a breakdown and began going commando, flashing the paparazzi and clubbing like no one’s business,  all while leaving the kids at home. What kind of role model does this make? Obviously not a very solid one, given her little sister Jamie Lynn, also a teen star, got pregnant at the age of 16 and began acting in similar ways.

Everyone is in a relationship.  Friendships, romantic relationships, relationships with your family a relationship between two people! You have a relationship with yourself.  When two people decide to be in a relationship, they decide how they want their relationship to be and that’s no ones business but their own.  When people of two different races are in a relationship people tend to look at them more.  Some people look down on them, some are happy and some don’t pay attention at all.  Someone is going to have an opinion about something but you just can’t let it affect your relationships with people.  Rapper Common and singer Jill Scott feel that African American men and women should not date outside their race.  Studies have shown that everyone is the same underneath the skin.  Our skin is just a color.  Yes, African Americans have been oppressed for many years and still to this day and Black unity is beautiful, but we are in 2010. We need to rise above and show that we are all the same.  That’s the point Africans were trying to get across.  No one should get equal or lesser value because of their skin color so why should interracial relationships be a problem?  Our skin is just a color! Love is always going to be love. Let love live without a color to it.  Love is beautiful and should have no physical restraints.

Pressing the start button on the now infamous site of chatroulette.com is both exciting and nerve wracking as the player of the so called "video chat game" site (hence the name chatroulette) knows that they could be confronted with anyone ranging from a funny man with cat in hand, a woman playing piano, to a nude creep.
The site was launched in November 2009 by a 17 years old Russian boy, Andrey Ternovskiy.  The young man was inspired by skype video chats and created the site not expecting much.

March 22nd was California Partnership to End Domestic Violence Legislative Action Day I attended this event with my fellow BOM ambassadors to discuss how we can involve peer health in schools and the ways to grade students when they receive this type of information. I believe this is a big situation because it’s never too early to learn about sex-ed or anything about health and unhealthy relationships. Some people don’t think kids in middle school need to learn about all this stuff because they’re not old enough but I think that’s when we are suppose to advocate for sex education and abuse, we want to make sure they are aware by the time they get to high school. That way they will be able to conscious of the actions they decide to take concerning their sex life. By doing this in schools we can prevent unhealthy relationships in our future and prevent unwanted pregnancies. But this conference was very informative and good. At first I didn’t know what I got myself into then when we arrived our supervisor Maeven said we were going to be speaking to politicians and whatever we say could possibly become considered being made into a law that would apply to all schools. We also givent the opportunity to speak to other organizations that do the same type of work BOM does which is to prevent teen dating violence and stop the cycle
