Rapper T.I., alongside his wife Tiny and children took a picture for Touch Magazine. The photo shows the family posing in a way similar to that of a photo taken of the fictional Huxtable family from “The Cosby Show.” T.I. has declared his show, which documents him and his family, “The Hip-Hop Cosby show.” This has been a topic discussed on Street Soldiers, a Bay Area radio show that airs every Sunday on 106 KMEL FM. The biggest question on this show was “Is this a good comparison?”

Being a father comes with lots of responsibilities. But most fathers don’t have what it takes to be a good one. Some blame it on their own fathers not being in their lives but that never makes it okay for a man to abandon his child. A lot of kids grow up fatherless and more often than not begin to look up to the men in their neighborhood who are selling drugs, involved in gang activities, or have a negative impact on their community in any way. But why do they look up to them? In my opinion it is because of the media taking things such as guns, cars, chains, women, and drugs and making them “cool.” Some kids buy into it, while others choose a more positive road to success.

When I was little technology and social network didn't exist like they do now. It wasn't a way to update a status and put someone's business out there. You know, “put them on blast” meaning you expose something confidential, or secretive about somebody you wouldn’t normally say. It wasn’t until I got in the 7th grade and MySpace became a popular social site, that's when people began putting themselves on blast, or in other words putting themselves out!

In this society, it seems like music has changed the mindset of our young generation. Men and Women had more regard for each other, and music had more meaning! Now and days the younger generation is use to saying “I don't need no n**** “ or “ b******* ain't s***”. When we think of the music me and my peers listen to now, we wonder where did these ideals of negativity between men & women, and young relationships come from? As we review some of the music from artist the younger generation listen to, it doesn't always make sense.

Relationships are one of the best things we are lucky to have, but some people, especially many youngsters nowadays, let relationships dominate their lives. For example, day-to-day many kids around the world spend countless hours on Twitter and Facebook talking about relationships. It's sad to me people get more likes on facebook for status’ like “lms...if you a virgin” as opposed to posting status’ like, “Today is a good day...everyone stay blessed”. I know this is because I witness it all the time and I see it mostly happen with today’s youth which is really bad. After all, the youth is the future.
The correct way to approach a person is to show respect. Respect is especially important when making connections or relationships between men and women. The elderly model great character and teach the youth that an amazing personality, respect, and coming correct is the best way to approach someone for the first time.
Being my own role model was a step I had to make in order for me to be successful in life. Not just in life, but as a person, father, son, brother etc. Growing up in Oakland isn’t hard, but it’s not easy either, you can say it’s more of a balanced rating overall. It has wonderful places and programs for youth, homeless shelters and other things. Yet, it downs in the ranks with its history of violence and crime. For some people, the violence might be too much to handle and it starts to becomes normal!
February 1st until February 29th marks teen dating violence awareness month. Some teens express there feelings to their partners in different ways. In this case some teens use violence to express their feelings.
I believe Chris brown got blamed for everything. Almost got his career flushed down the drain because he hit Rihanna. Don't get me wrong, he was out of pocket for that. But I'm still stuck, wondering, why was everyone so quick to point the finger and so slow to get the whole story.
Why is that when dudes talk to a lot of females and have sexual relations with them, they are awarded? They are often complimented because of their actions and people go on as if there’s nothing wrong with it. On the other hand when a female does that same exact thing, she is called all kinds of negative names. It could be because at a young age a lot of boys were seeing their older role models with different females. Also a lot of TV shows publicize that act and music entertainers are promoting a number of females in their videos revealing sexual part of their body.
